Terms of service

The rules of the road, in plain English.

These terms govern your use of Kiln, a product operated by Right Up There Limited, a company registered in Ireland. By creating an account or using the product, you agree to them. Last updated May 17, 2026.

1. Who we are

Kiln is a content workflow product for solo founders and operators. We turn the sources you connect into LinkedIn posts, Instagram captions, Facebook posts, and blog drafts on cadences you define, with every draft routed through a review inbox before it ships.

Kiln is operated by Right Up There Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of Ireland. References in these terms to "we", "us", "our", or "Kiln" mean Right Up There Limited.

2. Your account

  • You need to be at least 16 years old (18 in jurisdictions that require it) to use Kiln.
  • You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.
  • When you connect a LinkedIn, Instagram, or Facebook account, you authorize Kiln to act on your behalf within the scopes you granted. You can revoke that authorization at any time from the publisher card in your workspace.
  • You may share a workspace with collaborators. Each workspace member is bound by these terms.

3. Plans, billing, and refunds

  • Every new workspace starts on a 14-day free trial with a 15-draft cap. No card required. When the trial ends the workspace pauses until you pick a paid plan.
  • Paid plans (Solo and BYOK) are billed monthly via Stripe, in advance, in US dollars, on the day you subscribe.
  • Solo includes 50 drafts per billing month with generation run on our LLM accounts. BYOK includes unlimited drafts run against the OpenAI key you supply; you remain responsible for whatever OpenAI charges you.
  • You can cancel any time from your billing settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
  • We don't pro-rate cancellations. If you cancel partway through a month you keep the rest of that month.
  • We don't generally offer refunds — the 14-day trial exists so you can decide before paying. If something clearly broke on our side, email hello@usekiln.appand we'll make it right.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. Price changes never apply retroactively to your current billing period.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Kiln to:

  • Violate the terms of any connected platform (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook). If LinkedIn or Meta suspends your account because of how you used Kiln, that's between you and them.
  • Send spam, post deceptive content, impersonate other people or organizations, or run engagement schemes.
  • Publish content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence.
  • Try to bypass rate limits, reverse-engineer the service, scrape it, or use it to train competing models.
  • Connect sources you don't have the right to ingest (private repositories you don't own, gated content, etc.).

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice. Where we can give notice without making the situation worse, we will.

5. Your content

  • You own your sources, drafts, brand profile, and everything you create in Kiln. We claim no ownership over any of it.
  • You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, and display your content solely to provide the service to you: e.g. embedding source chunks for retrieval, sending draft bodies to the LLM provider you've picked, posting an approved draft to LinkedIn on your behalf.
  • We will not use your content to train AI models. We will not share your content with other customers.
  • You are responsible for the content you publish. Kiln generates draft suggestions; the decision to ship them is yours.

6. AI-generated drafts

Kilnuses third-party large language models to generate drafts from the sources and brand profile you provide. LLM output can be inaccurate, biased, or sound unlike you in ways the model doesn't flag. The review inbox exists precisely because of this — review every draft before you approve it, and never auto-publish a cadence you haven't already manually approved several runs of.

We make no warranty that generated drafts are accurate, original, free of third-party rights claims, or suitable for any particular purpose. You are responsible for what you publish through your connected accounts.

7. Third-party services

Kilnintegrates with platforms we don't control: LinkedIn, Meta (Instagram + Facebook), OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe, Resend, PostHog, Vercel, Supabase, Modal, and Google. Those platforms have their own terms and we can't override them on your behalf. If a platform changes its API, suspends your account, rate-limits you, or revokes a token, the consequence is between you and them — we'll do what we can to surface the failure and help you recover.

8. Service availability and changes

We're a small team building this in the open. We aim for high availability but we don't offer a formal SLA on the standard plans. We will give reasonable notice for planned maintenance and post-mortem any incident that materially affects you.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. If we remove or materially degrade a feature you've been relying on, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email.

9. Termination

  • You can close your account at any time from settings or by emailing us. Account closure deletes your workspaces, sources, drafts, brand profile, OAuth tokens, and everything else tied to your account. We'll keep billing records as required by law.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate Section 4 (Acceptable use), don't pay, or expose us to legal risk. If we terminate you for a reason that's not your fault, we'll refund the unused portion of your current billing period.

10. Disclaimer

Kilnis provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kiln and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is capped at the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Kiln harmless from any third-party claim arising from your content, your use of the service in violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising under these terms will be heard exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using Kilnafter the change takes effect, you accept the updated terms; if you don't, you can close your account before they apply.
